For this year’s ranking, the QS team compared more than 4,000 universities and compiled over 93 million citations from more than 13 million scientific publications. 1,001 universities made it onto the ranking list and 47 of these were from Germany. In addition to the number and citation frequency of publications, the assessment focused on the reputation of universities among international researchers and business partners, the ratio of faculty to students as well as the percentage of international students and employees.
Published annually, the QS World University Ranking belongs to the most influential international university rating lists alongside the Times Higher Education World University Ranking and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
